ABOUT US
Novelda Country House is owned by Hannah and Jonathan Mann. We have young children and appreciate that getting away as a family is your time to relax and enjoy spending time together. With this in mind we have made our home as child friendly and relaxing as possible. The Villa is set on a 4 acre Vineyard which is farmed by a local farmer and made into local Alicante wine.
Our pool is fully fenced to make sure children are safe and can only access the area when supervised. There are toys and play equipment in the gardens including a small climbing wall which are all visible from the terrace.
For the adults there is a glorious outdoor dining area to cook and eat whilst enjoying the mountain views and Spanish sunsets. Recently we have added an outdoor cinema area so you can log into your netflix account and watch a movie or your favourite TV series.
Inside, the Villa has everything you may need for your stay including a comfy living area, kitchen and clothes washing facilities. Off the large open plan kitchen/living area there are 3 bedrooms, 1 double, 1 twin and a twin with bunk beds. An extra pull out kids bed or baby cot is available upon request. Each room has ceiling and standing fans to keep you cool in summer and we have an eco pellet heater for the winter.
If you need additional sleeping space there is a further double bedroom adjacent to the main villa sleeping a further 2 people. This room has no toilet or washing area but the main bathroom is a short walk away.
In total the villa sleeps 9 people + a baby, in 7 separate beds.
The main bathroom has recently been renovated and includes a large shower, sink and toilet. There is an additional outdoor bathroom with a further shower, sink and toilet - perfect for a quick dash from the pool! To top it off, an outside shower is located next to the pool.
Fresh linen and towels are provided for your stay and checkout is midday as standard.

WHAT'S TO DO IN THE LOCAL AREA
All this and much more to do in the Costa Blanca, here are some of our favourite activities and day trips all within a short drive of the villa.
WATER PARKS
There are 2 big water parks both around a 50 minute drive from the villa.
Aquopolis and Aqualandia both offer slides galore for the thrill seekers and also those less adventurous.
Only open in the summer months
We advise you take water shoes with you as the concrete can get hot and lots of water and suncream.
BODEGAS FAELO WINERY
Keeping with the long tradition of winemaking in the historic region of Alicante, Spain., Bodegas Faelo invites you for a once-in-a-lifetime tasting and tour! Here, you will have a guided visit to their winery and also the old winery of grandfather Rafael, the winepress room and museum, vineyard, fermentation building and barrel room. You will taste four wines (white, rosé, red and sweet). Each visitor will taste an individual dish with local food such as coca (typical type of pasty), dried sausages, cheese, homemade bread with extra virgin olive oil and dried fig and date bread.
Kids and allergies catered for
FONTS DE L'ALGAR
Photo's cannot do this place justice. The picturesque nature reserve features waterfalls, a walking track, swimming holes & a picnic area. For the daring there is a platform to jump off into the water. Be sure to take water shoes and aim to arrive early as it gets busy!
Parking and cafes are available. Please note that there are a lot of steps and walking involved.
PRIVATE BOAT TRIP
Jump onboard our private boat trip experience and hire this gorgeous yacht with private onboard chef and skipper for a days adventure. Choose where you go and what you eat, all tailored to you. Suitable for up to 5 people.
Costs around 500 euros for a full 8 hour day depending on food choices.
TABARCA ISLAND
A visit to the island usually lasts one day. There are numerous departure times from the port of Alicante, although the regularity of these depends upon the time of year. The boat ride is comfortable and lasts for around one hour. The island can also be reached from Santa Pola and Benidorm.
Once on the island, visitors can enjoy the coves and beaches with their crystal-clear waters and a picturesque fishing port with excellent cafes and bars. We recommend a stroll through the town and a visit to the island’s museum and shops.
RÍO SAFARI ELCHE
Brilliant safari and splash park, just 25 minutes drive from the villa. All your favourite animals plus a few unusual ones including Jaguars and Orangutangs. Enjoy a short trailer ride with commentry in English. In the afternoon you can enjoy the splash park with many waterslides. Suitable for all but a definite winner for kids aged 1 - 12.
HORSE RIDING LESSONS
Giddy up and learn to ride Spanish style on beautiful and well kept horses. This traditional riding centre caters for all levels of rider aged 6+. Full instruction will be given in English in either private or group lessons.
Lessons are an hour long and are around 20 Euros per person. The stables also has an onsite restaurant but you much book in advance.
CASTILLO DE SANTA BARBARA
The Castillo de Santa Bárbara offers an infinite range of possibilities for visitors. From a tour of its indoor exhibitions and walks with the best views of Alicante, to culinary experiences, concerts, dramatised tours and more.
If you want to visit the Castillo de Santa Bárbara, we recommend setting aside at least one or two hours in order to fully enjoy this magical place.
Our recommendation is to get the lift up and then walk back down through the shaded pine forests.
MUSEO PALEONTOLÓGICO DE ELCHE
Well worth a visit for all anthropology and dino lovers. The museum features a short video of how the earth was created (in English) and numerous fossils, rocks, crystals and dinosaur bones. We recommend spending about 1.5 hours looking around and then heading for lunch in one of Elche's numerous cafes or restaurants.
MINIATURE RAILWAY
The Torrellano Railway Museum, known as “ Museo del Ferrocarril ” is one of the best museums on the Costa Blanca to visit with children. The highlight here is taking a ride on the miniature steam trains which send you on a quaint journey round the premises, going over mini bridges and through tunnels.

LOCAL TOWNS
For you to explore
We want your stay with us to be as special and easy as possible. Novelda Country House has wonderful local towns to explore. Take a look at what they have to offer.
ALICANTE CITY
The best of the Costa Blanca
Renowned for its long sandy beaches, vibrant festivals and lively nightlife, Alicante is one of Spains main holiday destinations for good reason. This authentically Spanish city has a true Mediterranean air. Its wide esplanades are perfect to relax while its seafront promenades and winding streets are full of cafe, bars, restaurants and shopping.
The historical centre is filled with Baroque buildings with many churches and the famous Santa Barbara Castle with its amazing panoramic views of the city.
Alicante's beaches have plenty of activities including snorkelling, surfing, sailing, paragliding and kite surfing not to mention swimming!
There are many festivals throughout the year and day trips galore including Tabarca Island and the Canalobre Caves to name just two.
NOVELDA
Marble capital of the world
Being famous especially as the “Spanish capital of marble”, Novelda hosts the Spanish marble industry. It has so many perfectly decorated marble buildings. And in addition to this, the city is well known for its vineyards and large saffron fields.
Lots of 17th century architecture can be seen around any of the main city squares- “plazas”. Apart from having a beautifully restored facade which belongs to the magnicent the city hall, the church of San Pedro is right next door and both are the ideal starting point for a nice walk around the old town streets.
After discovering some of the beautiful attractions in Novelda, you really might want to make sure you drive about 3 km to the northwest to the Castle of Mola ( Castillo de la Mola ) and the Sactuario de Santa Maria Magdalena.
On a practical level Novelda has many supermarkets, bars, restaurants, shops and pharmacies and is only a 5 minute drive from the Villa making it perfect to stock up on your favourites or have a local meal out.
SAX
Leather you'll love
Sax is a small town which can be found inland on the Northern Costa Blanca in Spain.
Sax is a great area for hiking and walks through the El Plano pine forest which is home to an estimated one million pine trees.
Agriculture is still the main industry of sax which concentrates its energy on growing fruits and vegetables and the cultivation of vineyards.
Sax is also known for its leather goods specialising in quality foot wear and bags as well as furniture and blinds.
The town has many monuments and beautiful historic buildings, not least of which is the restored castle, which sits precariously high overlooking Sax. When it is lit up at night it appears to float above the town. Built by the Moors in the 10th century, the castle, whose foundations are built over a cave, dominates the town and there are free guided tours by appointment every Sunday at 11 a.m.
MONFORTE DEL CID
The local villiage
This beautiful local town is about a 20 minute walk away. There are local shops to buy essential food and some fabulous little restaurants.
The architecture is simply stunning especially the church which sits on the site of the original medieval castle. The town is well worth a walk to where you can enjoy lovely local food and wine.
